The Animal Task Force is pleased to announce its new theme for the year 2016: Animal Production, the Key in a European Sustainable Circular Bioeconomy.
With an increasing global population and consequently, food demand, the livestock sector represents a key actor to address the challenge of global food and nutrition security. Animal productions can contribute more effectively to the Bioeconomy for a sustainable food-chain, providing multiple benefits. Read more

News from the FACCE JPI
The Joint Programming Initiative on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change (FACCE-JPI,) bringing together 21 countries who are committed to build an integrated European Research Area, informs that 14 projects proposals were chosen to be funded in the framework of FACCE SURPLUS. Also, the European JPI Chairs made a statement for the Lund Conference 2015, pointing out that we need to improve the leverage and long-term effects of joint programming. Finally, The video recording of the FACCE-HDHL grand debate on nutrition security at EXPO2015 Milano is now available online. Read more 

Pre-announcement of a call on sustainable animal production
The ERA-NET Sustainable Animal Production (SusAn) had its Kick-off meeting in December and is planning to launch the first call for transnational research proposals in early January 2016. 37 partners from 23 countries have committed 17 m € for research.  Read more
